Press Release

Acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke has been awarded two Grammy nominations; a Doctorate in Music Performance by the Peck School of Music at the U of Wisconsin, Milwaukee; and a Certificate of Significant Achievement in Not Playing the Trombone from the U of Texas at Brownsville with Texas Southmost College.

BKO is a power quintet from BAMAKO Associating the guitar of griots with the lute of Bambara hunters had never been undertaken before in the Malian music universe. It is indeed two opposite worlds that BKO have decided to bring up together in order to develop a resolutely urban music style rooted in secular tradition.

Continuing two decades of folk pop craftsmanship, Josh Rouse is prepared to release "Love In the Modern Age," adding the synthesizers of his 80s influences to his latest batch of tunes.

Ari Hest is a grammy nominated singer/songwriter who began his career as an independent artist in 2001. He built a loyal following touring the college circuit extensively between 2000 and 2003, after which he released two albums on Columbia Records, Someone To Tell(2004) and The Break-In(2007) all the while touring both in the U.S. and abroad with artists such as of Martin Sexton, Suzanne Vega, and Ani Difranco.

Johnny Irion is a rocker in and out of time. There’s something kind of timeless in the way he wrings out the sweetest melodies and deeper passions of both ‘60s Californian rock and Guthrie-era folk, and something so timely about the way he does it.

Irion has just wrapped up a solo record, Driving Friend, with members of Dawes, Wilco, Nicki Bluhm, and The Gramblers, due out this spring. He will be joining SON VOLT for their spring tour.
