As the Democratic National Convention comes to a close in Denver, there are signs the Obama Campaign is starting to see West Virginia as more competitive than before. When voters in Berkeley Co. cast ballots November 4, they’ll decide whether to add two more members to the county commission. Like most counties in WV, Berkeley has a three member commission. For 4 months, United Steelworkers union has been negotiating a new contract with ArcelorMittal. Wednesday USWA presidents from Mittal plants countrywide urged workers to give them bargaining power, by approving a strike authorization vote if an agreement can’t be reached in time. Sen. Jay Rockefeller came out early in support of Barack Obama's candidacy and he urged West Virginians to support him. Now, Rockefeller says he is urging the Obama campaign to give more attention to WV.
