Dierks Bentley & The Travelin' McCourys - Dierks Bentley has used his multi-platinum success in country music as a springboard to explore the roots of country and bluegrass - and to collaborate with some of the musicians who influenced him. His fifth studio is an mostly-acoustic effort titled “Up on the Ridge” and features a “Who’s Who” of bluegrass and country roots artists including Del McCoury, Alison Krauss, Tim O’Brien, Sam Bush, and The Punch Brothers. In addition to his originals, Bentley picked songs by Bob Dylan, U2, Buddy Miller and Kris Kristofferson. In 2003 Bentley was signed to Capitol Records and released his debut which included the No. 1 single “What Was I Thinkin’.”“Up On the Ridge” follows Bentley’s wildly popular 2009 release “Feel that Fire.” Bentley brings along The Travelin’ McCourys, featuring Ronnie McCoury, Rob McCoury, Jason Carter, and Alan Bartram.
The John Jorgenson Quintet - A three-time winner of the Academy of Country Music's "Guitarist of the Year" award, John Jorgenson is also one of the most accomplished players of gypsy jazz, a style pioneered by master guitarist Django Reinhardt. The John Jorgenson Quintet is the only American act to ever headline the prestigious Django Reinhardt Memorial Festival in France. The quintet includes Dutch bassist Simon Planting and British rhythm guitarist Kevin Nolan, jazz violinist Jason Anick and veteran percussionist Rick Reed. Throughout his career Jorgenson has played with a wide array of musicians, ranging from Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and John Prine to Bonnie Raitt and Barbra Streisand. Jorgenson spent six years as a member of Elton John's touring band. In 1986, Jorgenson co-founded the country-rocking Desert Rose Band along with former Byrd Chris Hillman. His next project was the instrumental Hellecasters, a tour de force of Telecaster wizards that included guitarists Will Ray and Jerry Donahue.
Charlie McCoy - Considered the king of bluegrass and country harmonica, Charlie McCoy was inducted into the WV Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009. McCoy has been a studio mainstay in Nashville for 48 years since moving to Music City from West Virginia at the age of 18. For a 15-year stretch, McCoy played on more than 400 sessions a year. In addition to his own 35 albums he has recorded and performed with a list of artists that includes Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle and virtually every classic country artist. His work- on harp, guitar, bass and horns- can be heard on Bob Dylan’s “John Wesley Harding,’ “Highway 61 Revisited,” and “Blond on Blond.” McCoy has a Grammy Award, two Country Music Association Awards and eight Academy of Country Music Awards. McCoy also served as musical director for the syndicated TV show “Hee-Haw” for 18 years and still plays regularly throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Fred Eaglesmith - Filling the gap between rock and country, Canadian singer/songwriter Fred Eaglesmith has been compared to Steve Earle, Tom Waits and Lyle Lovett. Lately, Eaglesmith’s songs have been picked up by Alan Jackson (the title track from his current “Freight Train” release), Miranda Lambert (“Time to Get a Gun”) and Toby Keith (“White Rose”). Eaglesmith’s current CD, “Cha Cha Cha,” is his 18th to date, and finds him stretching out to include a little swing, a little soul and a hint of Bossa Nova. His 2008 album “Tinderbox” was hailed as a "masterwork" by “The Philadelphia Inquirer.”
Bill Kirchen – Bill Kirchen’s legacy was all but sealed in 1972 when he contributed the blazing Telecaster runs on Commander Cody’s 1972 Top 10 hit “Hot Rod Lincoln.” Since then, he’s released eight acclaimed solo albums, toured internationally with Nick Lowe and has performed with the likes of Doug Sahm, Gene Vincent, Elvis Costello, Dan Hicks, Emmylou Harris and Link Wray. His current release, “Word to the Wise,” released May 25, pairs Kirchen with an all-star cast of guests including Costello, Lowe, Hicks, Maria Muldaur, Chris O'Connell and Commander Cody.
